 SANBI is  proud to  announce that the Pretoria National Botanical Garden has received  two prestigious awards in a ballot run by the Capital Media, part of the Caxton Group.

Ballots were run in August 2013 and after the votes were counted, the Garden was voted a winner in the PRETORIA'S BEST KEPT SECRET and BACK TO NATURE categories. These awards were decided by more than 197 470 Record News readers in Pretoria's Eastern and Northern suburbs, Centurion and the Moot area.

 Our statistics also show that lots of people are catching on as we have experienced historically best-ever record monthly visiors numbers for February, March, April, May, June, July and August in 2013. This is a 27% increase in visitor numbers compared to the same period last year.

I like to congratulate the curator Mr Solomon Nkoana and his garden staff for the job well done. When he took over as a curator of the garden, he kept his cool and eventualy it paid of. We are proud of you.
