Get updates on SANBI molecular expert's exploratory trip to the "Sky Islands"

Molecular expert Professor Krystal Tolley of the South African National Biodiversity Institute is taking an exploratory trip to the “Sky islands” of Mozambique.

Isolated from the surrounding savanna, these forests on high peaks and ridges contain their own unique wildlife, including many species that are new discoveries. Earlier this year researchers, including Prof Tolley, discovered four new pygmy chameleon species in the area. Along with her crew, Prof Tolley hopes to penetrate the veil of mystery around these little-known ecosystems.
